Covering: Why it is a good idea, and what benefits accrue What formats to release the data so as to maximize usability What license, depending on type of data Where to put the license (as a separate text file, embedded in a file as comment, or embedded in a field) What repositories to deposit it in How to add a package to CKAN Given the number of data types and formats, it may turn out to be a large document, and could benefit from breaking up into smaller docs per file type, eg 'How to release geographic data.' |
