The idea is to create a manual to give guidance on how to use and release literature data into the open ecosystem. I see it as possibly partially a cookbook as to how to do it as well as the Panton Principles as applied to literature - srot of how to and why to... combined. It would be a resource to creators and hackers as well as continuingthe conversation that began at Textcamp11. It could reside on the wiki.openliterature.net site as a community reference and then the creation and discussions would also be in the open.

I perceive this as a resource for the virtual business model in virtual communities; if I understand what Downes is saying then the digital life and physical life have to meld into virtual space(s). See "The Laws of Disruption"

There is no reason why there can't be just as much of community in virtual worlds as there is on any physical university campus; I perceive a reason for all the concern and popularity for "games" is our future capacity and restoration with artificial intelligence.
