A website called something like givetothem.org which lists for each particular area the best set of organizations to whom you should give (money, time etc) in order to make a difference.

Questions

  • A "best" set of organizations - who is to judge and by what criteria will you measure the difference?
  • Answer: I suggest that organizations could be submitted and discussed by community running the project. Maybe there are existing reviews that could be drawn on. Specific criteria could be adopted to base evaluations on (though these should be guide rather than rigid determinants)
  • "Each particular area", does this mean geographically, or the area of endeavor or need?
  • Answer: Could be both but more usually would be the area of endeavour or need. Could classify each organizations on these 3 dimensions and then allow users to filter down (3 dimensions being: location, endeavour, need addressed)
  • In what sense do you mean "give"? Do you mean invest in their entrepreneurial endeavors or make a donation like a charity?
  • Answer: it could be either money, time or some other resource that was useful to the activity.

Love the concept. I think the domain name could be a little more descriptive though

Can I ask you to restate the question please?

When you write "each particular area", do you mean geographically, or the area of endeavor or need?

In what sense do you mean "give" money? Do you mean invest in their entrepreneurial endeavors or make a donation like a charity?

The problem is not as simple as the question you posed, and the question is more difficult to frame well than I guess you first thought.
